Heat Index (also referred to as “apparent temperature”} is a product of the absolute temperature in combination with the amount of moisture in the air (relative humidity}. In the simplest of terms, the Heat Index is what it “feels like”, or the level of discomfort the average person is thought to experience when stepping outside on a hot and humid day.

Stated Value Policy:
This means that once the agreed upon threshold of the heat index is reached or exceeded during the specified date and time, the total limit of the insurance is paid out. There is no audit or adjustments and cancellation is NOT required to receive a claim payment.

Coverage Options
Maximum Daily Heat Index Coverage:
This coverage provides for a claim if the maximum daily heat index exceeds the insured threshold
Specific Hours Heat Index Coverage:
This coverage provides for a claim if the heat index reached or exceeds the insured threshold during specific hours of the day
Stepped Coverage:
This coverage allows you to choose up to three heat index threshold options, each with its own insured amount. Therefore, the greater the heat index, the greater the claim.
