Coming This Summer: A Total Solar Eclipse

On Monday, August 21, 2017, the moon will pass in front of the sun, casting its shadow across all of North America. Although solar eclipses occur every six months, this will be the first total solar eclipse visible in the contiguous United States in 38 years. However, only certain areas of the country will see the total eclipse. The cities that fall in the direct path of the shadow will see a total solar eclipse for up to two minutes, depending on where they are.
